NWA SPORTS TOURNEY RULES - BASEBALL

GATE FEES: $7.00 for ages 12 and up. $5.00 for ages 5-11. 4 and under Free - Higher fees for State Tourney

Pitching Rules:
USSSA National Rules apply (ask questions if you are unfamiliar with those rules)

Teams will need to supply their own GAME BALLS. USSSA stamped preferred, but USSSA approved is a must. (2 at the beginning of each game).

Since we are tracking pitching - ALL USSSA TEAM ROSTERS must be current with the players playing.

GAME LENGTH & RUN RULES (Pool and Bracket play):

1 hr and 30 minutes (ages 9-17U) - 1 hr and 15 minutes (ages 7-8U) · Clock starts on first warm up pitch
--Ages 13U-17U Run rules: 12 after 3, 8 after 4, 20 anytime (or 7 inning game)
--Ages 9U-12U Run rules: 12 after 3, 8 after 4, 20 anytime (or 6 inning game)
--Ages 7U-8U Run rules: 12 after 3, 8 after 4, 20 anytime (max of 7 runs may be scored per inning) (or 6 inning game)

FOR ALL AGES: If a team is 20 runs ahead after the competition of the 1st inning the games is automatically over. The 20-run rule does not apply to any events played outside of Arkansas, or the Fall or Spring State Championships or any World Series.
2-HOUR TIME LIMIT ON CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 9U-17U (can end by run rule)
1 & 1/2 -HOUR TIME LIMIT ON CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 7U-8U (can end by run rule)



SEEDING DETERMINED AS FOLLOWS:

​Pool Play / Tie Breaker Criteria:
1) Winning Percentage – Descending
2) Number Wins – Descending
3) Number Loses – Ascending
4) Tied Teams (vs. each other) Winning Pct – Descending (more than 2 teams tied, skip this tie breaker)
5) Avg Runs Allowed – Ascending
6) Avg Run Differential with a maximum of (8) – Descending
7) USSSA Points – Descending
8) Date Team Entered USSSA Database
**Once advanced past one tie breaker, you don’t go back to a previous tie breaker.


HOME TEAM DETERMINATION
Coin Toss in Pool Play.
Higher Seed in Bracket Play is the Home Team – Including the Championship game.

TIED GAMES:
Pool games can end in a tie.
Bracket games will be played out until there is a winner. We will be using MLB Rule: 7.01(b) as the tie breaker.


OTHER STUFF:
​--Home team keeps scorebook, Visiting team to keep Scoreboard
--Please ask parents/players to pick up trash in dugouts and bleacher area, we want to be able to continue to use Rogers parks. --Coaches please lead by example for your team.
--NO KIDS IN THE SCOREBOXES WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION PLEASE - NO SEEDS/PEANUTS IN SCORE BOXES.
--Use of any Tobacco in the park is strictly prohibited -- City Ordinance.
--Each team will receive 3 Coach Bands. (ONLY 3 Coaches get in for no gate fee – COACHES MUST WEAR COACH BANDS OR PAY TO GET IN)
